Milano - Day 1

Well, I arrived safely in Milan this morning at 7:45. The weather was very nice today - clear and sunny but with a bit of a chill.

Once I got settled, we took the metro from Centrale and Jason showed me where my cooking school is. Then we walked over to the Castello Sforzesco (castle) and the Parco Sempione (a small scale version of NY's central park). We continued on to the Duomo - it was amazing. We went inside where they were having mass. What an experience! I plan to revisit the Duomo when I have more time - expect a lot of pictures of the gargoyles, gothic architecture and other exterior sculptures.

After that, we visited the fashion district where I bought some socks (so exciting) at a 9 story mall and J said that I should not be allowed to walk around Milan unsupervised. There is so much great shopping and it's not all expensive boutiques like I expected. I should have waited to shop for clothes until I got here! We had lunch at a little pizza place and then came back to the hotel for a nap and are now heading out to dinner.

Ciao!

I let Meg & Jake out today. Meg didn't like to see me leave so I'll have to go eat dinner over there tonight & watch a movie.
I just finished the DVD and gave it to the family.. they loved it. So I feel relieved about that!
